History of Windemere CLC
The original Windemere building was constructed in 1924. Additions were made in 1948, 1952, 1954 and 1972. The school was originally part of the Springfield Township Schools and annexed by the Akron School District in 1929. The school is located on the top of a hill and was named for its location. Over the years, students and teachers have claimed that it is the windiest spot in Summit County. Classes started in new building on September 1, 2011. The dedication took place on October 4.
